I would like to express my profound gratitude and appreciation to you,
Mt. Erie, for your untiring fellowship. How blessed we are here at Mt.
Erie to be a part of the most powerful movement in all the world, and
that is the movement of the Holy Spirit as He continues to guide us in
the Kingdom-building business. We must be mindful that we have come
this far by faith; not leaning on our own understanding, but depending
on the Lord to do what He does best - and that is work in and through
the lives of all who will allow Him. If you have been a member of Mt. Erie
for any time now, you know the family is very precious and important to me.
The Lord has burdened my heart to speak about the Christian home
and marriage in a series of messages. I have tried to point this out in my
sermons on Marriage and Family:
As goes the Individual....So goes the Marriage.
As goes the Marriage...So goes the Home.
As goes the Home....So goes the Nation.
Today, the distinctive Christian home is passing out of existence by default. It takes time to make a
"house a home." We here at Mt. Erie are taking the time necessary to try and establish good
Christian homes. It doesn't make any difference what others do. We are to live righteously; we are
to serve the Lord; we are to train our families to love God and live for Him. The influence of home
training cannot be overemphasized, and this is what we are trying to do. Remember, "Success in
marriage consists not only in finding the right mate, but also in being the right mate."
I am so grateful to God for allowing me to be the Pastor of this great church. For He is truly at work
here. It is as if He is preparing our church for something unique that is about to happen. Our
church is growing, and new school buildings are being started right here and now. We have five
school buildings, and interest and demand for more is growing rapidly. This growth is a result of
the vision, faith, and leadership of men and women who have served at this church.
I can't help but think about the Mighty Hand of God being in the affairs of Mt. Erie for 55 years. We
know that God is the designer of order, organization, and provision; and if the church objectives are
in line with His will, we will be able to accomplish all things through Him. God is not finished with us
yet! He is showing us again how He can use men and women with vision, faith, and leadership to
accomplish wonderful things in His ministry.
We must continue to make significant strides as a vibrant, growing congregation and a great place
of worship.
May God bless you and your home,
Dr. Walter G. Wells, Pastor
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR...
EXPRESSIONS FROM OUR FIRST LADY...
"Praise God from whom all blessings
flow!" I wish I could express in words
my heartfelt gratitude to you our church
family for all of the support that you
have given Pastor and myself.
After thirty-four years as a Pastor's
wife, it reinforced my feelings of being
especially chosen and highly honored
among today's women to be a partner
with Pastor. The joy has been mine,
being able to serve you with my
husband and Pastor.
To Pastor, thank you for giving us, the
membership of Mt. Erie the opportunity
to share our lives with others and, to
become spiritually closer to one
another.
To Mt. Erie, continue to shine for Jesus.
Keep being the kind of friendly church
that you are today. God has blessed
us with people like you who have
brightened our days. You have really
made a difference in our lives, with you
kind and helpful ways. Your
thoughtfulness means so much to our
family. I want you to know that you will
always have a special place in our
hearts.
Always be reminded that "God's
business is the main thing in all we do."
Love you so much,
Frankie Wells
